It is a good idea to take preventative measures when it come to this condition. Loose fitting clothing and underwear should be worn. These items should be made from natural fibers instead of synthetic fibers. Natural fibers allow the skin to breathe and stay cool and dry. Deodorants and perfumes should be avoided as should any feminine product that contains any perfumes. Eating foods low in sugar and drinking plenty of water may also help.

If this condition is not treated, it can be passed from mother to child. If during the birth, the child comes into contact with the fungus, they can later develop thrush. When Candida infections manifest in the mouth, it is known as thrush. The condition is not dangerous to your baby, but it can make them cranky. In some cases these conditions clear up on their own. They can also be treated with medications.

A yeast infection during pregnancy is common in women. A physician should always be consulted when you suspect this condition.
